Shaw, Margaret M., “Midge,” 85, of Echo Drive, Barrington, died peacefully on January 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Victor H. Shaw Sr. and Mary M. (Lynch) Shaw, she lived in Barrington for 14 years previously residing in Riverside for 71 years.

Ms. Shaw was an Administrative Assistant at the Amica Insurance Co. for 37 years before retiring in 1989.

Margaret was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1952. A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

She is survived by two brothers, Victor H. Shaw Jr. of Riverside and David W. Shaw of Barrington; two nieces, Christine M. Backner of Cumberland and Cheryl L. Shaw of Wrentham, MA; a nephew, Victor H. Shaw III of Cumberland and several great nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday January 24, 2020 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted.

  4. My condolences to Vic and David. I apologize for not attending the services for Midge. I just found out about it. I am so sorry, she was a great lady!

  5. Very sorry to hear about Midge–I always had a lot of fun with her. Given our Irish heritage, inevitably some of these laughs took place at Bracken family gatherings that weren’t always for a happy occasion…but all the more appreciated at times like those. My sympathy to her brothers, family and friends.
