Whitaker, Marguerite, E., (Rose), 82, of Rounds Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on December 21, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Whitaker.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Tierney) Rose, she was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mrs. Whitaker was a bookkeeper for the M.N. Cartier & Son and Brown University for 35 years before retiring in 2002.

Marguerite was a communicant of St. Brendan Church.

She is survived by a son; James R. Whitaker and his wife Tara Colvin-Whitaker of Riverside, five loving grandchildren; Caitlin and Christopher Carter, Caroline, Meredith and Katherine Whitaker and a son-in-law; Kevin Carter. She was the mother of the late Patricia M. Carter and sister of the late Helen Rose Atkins.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday December 28, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue at 7:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 am. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
