Ventura, Maria, M., 83, of Hopeworth Avenue, died peacefully on January 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Herculano Ventura.

Born in Pico de Pedra, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel D. and Maria D. (Correio) Gouveia, she lived in Bristol for 30 years.

Mrs. Ventura was the owner of Jardim Botanico Variety Store, Fall River for 25 years.

Besides her husband of 63 years, she is survived by a son, Paul Ventura of Murrieta, CA; a brother, Jose Gouveia of Quebec, Canada and four grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Margaret V. DaSilva.

Her funeral will be held on Monday January 18, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are Sunday 3-5 p.m.
