Kerns, Marie, E., (McDonnell), 88, of Atria Bay Spring, Bay Spring Avenue, died peacefully on May 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Samuel J. Kerns Jr.

Born in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary (Driscoll) McDonnell, she lived in Barrington for 28 years and North Farm, Bristol for 16 years.

Mrs. Kerns was a communicant of St. Luke Church. She was the former treasurer of St. Luke Parish Outreach and a member of the Young at Heart Club.

Marie was a volunteer for the Barrington Tap-In Program. She enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing and traveling.

Besides her husband of 64 years, she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen M. Kerns and her husband Joseph Sullivan of West Virginia and Margaret A. Mailloux and her husband Charles of Barrington; two sons, Timothy J. Kerns and his wife Margaret of Laconia, NH and Robert S. Kerns and his wife Maura Keenan of Belmont, MA; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Samuel J. Kerns.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday May 21, 2015 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 5-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 22, 2015 in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
