Petit, Mary C., (Snow), 96, of Allen Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on March 6, 2021. She was the wife of the late Aram M. Petit.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Arthur and Louise (Wall) Snow, she lived in Riverside for 70 years.

Mrs. Petit was a Secretary for the Providence School Department for 5 years before retiring in 1978.

Mary was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. She was a member of the East Providence Senior Center for 10 years and was a former Riverside Girl Scout Cookie Leader. She enjoyed baseball, bingo, gardening, painting and spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by a son, Mark W. Petit of Gainesville, FL; three daughters, Meride J. Dooriss of Punta Gorda, FL, Loretta M. Deveau of East Providence and Anne T. Browning of North Providence; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Betty (Barr) Reilly.

Her funeral will be held on Friday March 12, 2021 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m.
Calling hours are Friday morning 8-9 a.m. The guidelines set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health will be observed. Face coverings are required and only fifteen people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Mary’s memory to St. Joseph Indian School, P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD, 57326 would be deeply appreciated.

  3. I am so sorry to hear about Mrs Petit. I was her next door neighbor for years. Anne and I hung out at her house and mine. Many many great memories. She was like another mom to me. When I had children we always went to her house for Halloween. What a wonderful and loving lady.

  4. Aunt Mary was a wonderful lady. I loved her and knew she loved me. My sincerest sympathy to my cousins Mark, Meride, Loretta and Anne. May God bless you and all your family members at this sad time. I am unable to attend the funeral, but will be with all of you in thought and prayer. May Aunt Mary rest in peace.
