Johnston, Mary (Ferrara), 95, formerly of Palm Bay, Florida, died peacefully on February 20, 2024 at Hope Health Hospice & Palliative Care, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Dewey S. Johnston.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Donato and Genoveffa (Starnina) Ferrara, she lived in Palm Bay, Florida from 1987-2020.

Mrs. Ferrara was a hospital aid at Miriam Hospital before retiring in 1983.

Mary enjoyed walking, playing bingo, and watching movies.

She is survived by a son, Roland A. Audette and his wife Joanne of North Kingstown, three grandchildren, Elise, Alexander, and Gabrielle and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Brenda Lee Ciccone and sister of the late Michael, Rose, Joseph, Carmella, John, Antonetta, Elena and Angela.

Funeral Services for Mary and her daughter Brenda Lee Ciccone will be held on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. The family cordially invites those attending to a reception at the Riverside American Legion Post #10, 830 Willet Avenue, Riverside at 4:30 p.m. A private burial will be held in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.

  2. My Deepest Condolences to you and your family cousin Roland .You probably don’t remember me as we only knew each other in our childhood. But I just wanted to let you know that your mom my aunt Mary was very cheerful and made all events a delight to be part of the family! RIP AMEN 🙏 ❤️

  3. I loved your mom, we talked about family and things going on all the time. We used to dance together at a lot of family functions and weddings. I remember when she was leaving to go to Florida, it was a sad moment for us. Lucky I was working at Almac”s so I was able to see her all the time. She had a wonderful laugh and she’s always been in my thoughts and prayers where my memory of her will remain beautiful forever
