Whitfield, Mary K., (Landers), 75, of Forbes Street, Riverside, died peacefully on September 30, 2022 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of John E. Whitfield.
Born in Brockton, MA, a daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary K. (Regan) Landers, she lived in Riverside for 44 years previously residing in Rumford and Pawtucket.
Mrs. Whitfield was a Supervisor Payroll Clerk for Ocean State Job Lot for 18 years before retiring in 2017. She previously worked at the former Ann & Hope in Seekonk, MA for 20 years.
Mary enjoyed reading, shopping, taking long drives, sitting by the water watching the ships pass by and traveling throughout New England.
Besides her husband of 54 years, she is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Whitfield of Riverside and Edward A. Whitfield of East Providence; a daughter, Amy Lynn Whitfield of Bristol; a brother, Edward A. Landers of FL and two grandchildren, Alexandra R. Whitfield and Victoria M. Whitfield.
Her funeral service will be private. Contributions in Mary’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500

I’m very sorry to read of Mary passing, I worked with her for a short time at Ann&Hope, She was a lovely person, very sorry for John and family
