George, Mary, V., 87, of Hilton Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on February 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Samuel P. George Sr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sadie (Solomon) Tanury, she was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mrs. George was a communicant of St. Luke Church. Mary enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by two daughters; Carmel S. Guertin of Riverside and Roberta E. Geisser of Billerica, MA, a son; Samuel P. George Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Riverside, a sister; Olga Olszewski of East Providence, eight grandchildren; Keith Guertin, Jessica Cohen, Matthew, Stephen and Melinda Geisser, Joshua, April and Stephaine George and ten great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Julia Khouri, Esther LaVena, Thomas, Fred, George and Edward Tanury.

Relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington on Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. Private burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are by the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside.
