Hubert, Matthew G., 39 of Glasgow Street, Providence died peacefully November 13, 2019 at Roger Williams Hospital surrounding by his loving family.

Born in Media, PA, on August 28, 1980, a beloved son of Mark C. and Mary Catherine (Marchetti) Hubert of Barrington, he lived in Providence for the past 10 years. Mr. Hubert was a clerk for PNC Financial Company for 2 years.

Matthew was a graduate of Barrington High School and played the trumpet in the Jazz Band, and the University of Rhode Island where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed baseball and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan.

Besides his parents he is survived by three sisters, Mary Pamela Hubert Kumm, of Overland Park, KS, Jessica Ann Hubert of New York City, NY and Katherine Marie Hubert of Barrington and a niece Lindsay Hubert of Overland Park, KS, and a brother-in-law, Jason Kumm of Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by a brother Mark C. Jr., who died in infancy. He was the grandson of the late William and Julia (Paetow) Hubert, and the late Jerome and Ann (O’Gara) Marchetti. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington on Saturday, November 23, at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Springfield, PA at the convenience of the family. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Matthew’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 1005, Warwick, RI 02886 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. Matt was a very dear friend. Would have been nice if something was posted on Facebook or if his phone contacts were given some sort of notice so i could’ve made the service. Im very upset by this.

  4. Please accept our deepest sympathies. We have a some terrific memories of Matt. Coming over to watch Red Sox games with Jeff and/or Ben. Cooking up some Italian sausages which became our Red Sox good luck charms. We enoyed his company. He will be missed. Again, our deepest sympathies in this trying time.

    My best buddy. My trusted friend. There is none like you. You are very special and we miss you more than words can say. There is a void here in the building without you here. It’s not the same and I really don’t even want to be here if your not here but that’s life.
    But I’m very blessed to know that you are now FREE! You can walk run jump do anything you want on those streets of gold up in heaven with Jesus!
    I’ll see you again one day lill buddy, until then give Jesus a big hug from me and pray for us still here on this earth.

    Matt was a wonderful friend to my son, and I so enjoyed getting to know him
    Over the last year.
    He will be missed.
