Callahan, Michael, C., 54, of Village Green North, died peacefully on October 8, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.

Born in Lowell, MA, a son of the late Raymond and Loretta (Dudivior) Callahan, he lived in East Providence for 20 years.

Mr. Callahan was a news print handler for the Providence Journal Co. for the past 30 years. Michael was sports enthusiast.

He is survived by three brothers; Daniel R. Callahan of Riverside, Thomas A. Callahan of Seekonk, MA and Wayne P. Callahan of New Bedford, MA, a sister; Joan M. Gonsalves of Attleboro, MA, nine nieces and nephews; Melissa Wishneusky, Hiedi, Caitlin, Jesse, Cody, Joshua, Sean, Cameron and Johnpaul Callahan and five great nieces and nephews; Zachary, Cayden, Callie, Olivia and Violette.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2011 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 pm.
