Palumbo, Michael, R., 65, of Silver Street, Riverside, died peacefully on February 14, 2012 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Susan F. (Aldrich) Palumbo.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Michael and Alexandrina (Tavares) Palumbo, he lived in Riverside for 45 years.

Mr. Palumbo was a welder at Blount Marine, Warren for 35 years before retiring.

Michael was a member of the Carousel Car Club and was a former coach of Riverside Little League and Riverside Pop Warner Football teams. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife of 45 years, he is survived by a son; Michael R. Palumbo Jr. of Riverside, two daughters; Teresa A. Feola and Julie A. Paquin, all of Riverside, two sisters; Mary Camara of Barrington and Trudy Ober of Mifflintown, PA, two brothers; Robert Palumbo of Bristol and David Palumbo of West Greenwich. He was the loving grandfather to six grandchildren; Hayley, Gabrielle, Savannah and Brookelyn Feola, Alexander and Emma Paquin.

His funeral will be held on Saturday February 18, 2012 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
