Ghenta, Mihai, 90, of Milton Road, Barrington, died peacefully on March 30, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Georgeta (Ionescu) Ghenta.
Born in Romania, a son of the late Anton and Elena Ghenta, he lived in Barrington for the past 8 years, previously residing in Hollywood, Florida from 1994-2016.
Mr. Ghenta was Chief of Foreign Exchange at the Federal Reserve Bank, New York City from 1980 until retiring in 1994.
Mihai was a daily communicant of St. Luke Church. He enjoyed walking on the beach in Florida, fishing, playing backgammon and spending time with his loving family.
Besides his wife of seventy years, he is survived by a son, Michael Ghenta of Australia; a daughter, Andrea Ghenta-Drimbarean of Barrington; three grandchildren, Christina, Monica and Corina Drimbarean and a brother, Anton Ghenta of Romania. He was the brother of the late Iosif and Virginia Ghenta.
His Private Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. Calling hours are private.
