Flanagan, Mildred, J., ‘Millie’, 85, of Winthrop Street, Riverside, died peacefully on December 12, 2015.

Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Kennedy) Flanagan, she lived in Riverside for 47 years previously residing in Central Falls.

Miss Flanagan was a speech therapist and guidance counselor for the Pawtucket School Department for 33 years.

Mildred was a graduate of Bryant University and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in speech therapy at the University of Rhode Island, a Master’s degree in Guidance at Providence College and a degree in Advancement of Speech Therapy at Emerson College, Boston.

Miss Flanagan was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. She was a member of AARP Chapter #1302 and enjoyed reading and traveling.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary F. Golden and her husband Charles of Riverside and Helen L. Walsh of Riverside and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ann Nazareth, Mary Frances Flanagan and Thomas Flanagan.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday December 16, 2015 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. A graveside burial will be held in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
