Nancy A. (Mascena) Josephs, 84, formerly of Barrington, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at her home at Anchor Bay-East Providence. She was the wife of the late John P. Josephs. Born in Bristol, RI, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Emily (Proto) Mascena.

She is survived by her son John Paul and his wife, Maddie Josephs of Rumford, RI and her son-in-law, Joseph Agresta of Lincoln, RI. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, Andrew Josephs, Lindsay Josephs Thompson and Lauren (Josephs) McGill and her husband Brendan, Michael Agresta and Matthew Agresta and his wife, Adriana. She was the proud great grandmother of Macie Autumn Agresta and Layla May McGill. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Agresta, and her brothers, Anthony Mascena and Stephen Mascena.

For many years, she was an office manager for several insurance agencies, including Contractor’s Insurance, Goldin Insurance and Avery-Smith agencies. She found joy in spending time with her family at her home in Barrington and on trips to Disneyworld and New Hampshire.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence on Saturday April 22, 2023 at 10 a.m. A private burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

Calling Hours are Friday 5-8 p.m. in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside.

  1. To John, Maddie and family. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Nancy. She was a wonderful lady. Always enjoyed being with her and John. Now they both are together with Susan again. May they rest in peace.
