Nancy Ellen Lemoi

Date of Passing:

October 5, 2010

Lemoi, Nancy, Ellen, 66, of Barrington, died peacefully on October 5, 2010 surrounded by her family at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. Nancy was the beloved wife of Arthur Lemoi of Barrington.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kisley) Waz.

Nancy was raised in Pawtucket and was a graduate of Tolman High School. In the early 1960’s, Nancy worked at the Herald Press in Pawtucket, where she met her future husband Arthur. After marriage, she dedicated her life to her family and raising her children. She was a member of the St. Luke’s Church in Barrington and was a long-time volunteer at the St. John’s Episcopal Church consignment shop. Nancy was a former member of the Newport Yacht Club and Barrington Yacht Club. Boating played a major role in many of the wonderful memories that her family will always cherish. She and her family also enjoyed annual family vacations on Sanibel Island, FL, where she and her four grandsons enjoyed collecting sea shells.

Nancy was quick-witted, funny, very thoughtful and was always trying to find just the right ways to let her family and friends know she was thinking of them. She was quietly generous, often giving special gifts to children and people she knew would appreciate them. Nancy also had a knack for coming up with funny and memorable nicknames for people whose company she enjoyed and with whom she exchanged good natured ribbing and banter about daily events. If Nancy gave you a nickname, you were counted as a close friend.

Besides her husband of 45 years, Nancy is survived by her two daughters; Kimberly Bowers and her husband Daniel Bowers of Hebron, CT and Lisa Culton and her husband William Culton Jr. of Barrington and by her four grandsons; Bradley and Mason Bowers of Hebron, CT and Jack and Grant Culton of Barrington.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday Oct. 9, in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Saturday morning 9-10 am. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Nancy’s memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI, 02904.
