Nancy M. (Carrara) McCauley, 97, of Riverside, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. McCauley.

Born in Johnston, Nancy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Vietry) Carrara. She made Riverside her home for the past 65 years, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.

For 35 years, Nancy co-owned and operated the Edward F. St. Pierre Shoe Store in Taunton, MA, a business she ran with dedication and grace until her retirement in 2012. Through her work, she touched the lives of countless customers and colleagues, always offering a kind word and a warm smile.

A woman of deep faith, Nancy was a daily communicant at St. Brendan Church.

Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures—tending to her garden, feeling the wind while sailing, and spending treasured time with her family. Her strength, wisdom, and quiet warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her five children: Joseph K. McCauley and his wife Debby of Johnston, Brian W. McCauley and his wife Linda of East Providence, Mark F. McCauley and his wife Susan of Rehoboth, MA, Kathleen M. McCauley-Swenson and her husband Charles Swenson (Ret. Major EPPD) of Rehoboth, MA, and Nancy E. McCauley of Riverside. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Carrara Jr.

Nancy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her grace, generosity, and the enduring love she gave so freely.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday August 20, 2025 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 11 a.m. Graveside burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
