Norman Fournier

Fournier, Norman, 86, of Elson Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on September 14, 2012 at the home of his son in Canterbury, CT. He was the beloved husband of Constance (Houlton) Fournier.

Born in Barrington, a son of the late Louis and Ellen (Langlois) Fournier, he lived in Riverside for 55 years.

Mr. Fournier was a firefighter for the East Providence Fire Department for 32 years before retiring in 1985.

Norman was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Mr. Fournier was a United States Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II.

Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by four sons; Peter N. Fournier and his wife Hilary of Riverside, James N. Fournier and his wife Paula of East Providence, David A. Fournier and his wife Michele of Canterbury, CT and Timothy A. Fournier and his wife Diana of Pawtucket, a daughter; Christine E. Crosslin of Riverside, a brother; Louis A. Fournier of Saunderstown, a sister; Jacqueline L. Lefebvre of Lincoln, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. He was the brother of the late Harvey W. Fournier.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2012 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4-8 pm.
