Onorato Palumbo Jr.

Palumbo, Onorato, Jr., 86, formerly of Rounds Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on August 24, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Paula J. (Donati) Palumbo.

Born in Barrington, a son of the late Onorato Palumbo Sr. and Crusifisa Palumbo, he lived on Prudence Island for 3 years, Riverside for 25 years and Barrington for 25 years.

Mr. Palumbo was a loom fixer for the Quaker Fabrics Co. of Fall River, MA for 34 years before retiring in 1993.

Onorato was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his loving grandchildren.

Mr. Palumbo was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife of 61 years, he is survived by three sons, Dr. Paul F. Palumbo M.D. of Clinton, NY, Peter O. Palumbo of Riverside and Carl J. Palumbo of Savannah, GA; a daughter, Christine L. Palumbo of Pawtucket; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was the grandfather of the late Justin Boykin and brother of the late Mary Casale, Celia and Hilda Palmarie and Anthony and John Palumbo.

His funeral will be held on Saturday August 29, 2020 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 a.m.

Calling hours are Friday 4-7 p.m. Due to state restrictions only 15 visitors at a time will be allowed in the funeral home during calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contribution’s in Onorato’s memory to the Rhode Island Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. Dear Paula, Browsing through the obituaries, since I live in Florida, and have for 27 years, I sadly saw Carl’s name. I am a name from the past, Mary (Balkcom) Yates, your neighbor on Highland Ave. in Cumberland, as young girls. I do remember you and your family so well. I am so sorry for your loss.
