Paul M. Cole

Date of Passing:

February 19, 2026

Paul M. Cole, 34, of Waterman Avenue, East Providence, died unexpectedly on February 19, 2026.

Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Robin Barros of Riverside and the late Paul W. Cole, he was a lifelong resident of East Providence and a familiar, friendly presence in the community he called home.

Paul worked as a laborer in construction for the past two years and previously dedicated ten years as a chef at Town Pizza, Riverside.

In his youth, he proudly played as an Allstar Riverside Little League Baseball player, creating memories on the field that reflected his lifelong love of sports.

An avid sports enthusiast, Paul also enjoyed fishing, clamming and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his loving children. Whether sharing laughter, offering guidance, or simply being present, Paul’s greatest joy was being their father.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his three children, Sean M. Cole, Paul M. Cole Jr., and Ava Valcorba, all of East Providence; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Charles and Joan (Tetrault) Cole and the late George and Joan (Bonin) Barros.

Paul’s life, though far too brief, was marked by love for his family, dedication to his work, and a deep connection to his community. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of sports, and the devotion he showed to his children each and every day.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Flowers may be sent to his mother Robin Barros, 89 Warren Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914.

  3. I’m sad to hear about Paulie’s passing. I worked with him at Town Pizza…He was an incredible mentor who taught me a lot during those early days in the kitchen. I’m grateful for those long days and what I learned from him. My thoughts are with his family and everyone who loved him.

  4. Robin, I am so sorry to hear about your son, Paul. My goodness. It’s like my mom Jeanie (your aunt; and your mom’s Joan’s sister) when she left us at 32. I sure wish I had been around to spend time with you and your family. It sounds like Paul had beautiful children that will need your love and support now. May you find some solace in that. If I were in Rhode Island (in Arizona now 40 years) I would surely join your service to honor his legacy. May love and family get you through this time. Please reach out anytime. I miss you all! XO

It’s hard to express how sad it is to hear of someone who we watched grow up with our children, Tracy and Ashley Curti spent their youth with Paulie and traveled to Orlando Disney Sports hotel and enjoyed together with Paulie as a brother they didn’t have, riverside baseball and the neighborhood they all lived together
