DeAquair, Peter J., Sr., 70, formerly of Earl Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on March 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Pierce) DeAquair.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Frank and Alice M. (Peters) DeAquair, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. DeAquair was a Police Officer for the East Providence Police Department for 28 years retiring as a Detective.

Peter was a member of the Rhode Island H.O.G. Association. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and attended the New Hampshire Bike Week for 28 years.

Besides his wife of 42 years, he is survived by two sons, Jason E. DeAquair of Wichita, KS and Peter J. DeAquair Jr. (Lauren) of East Greenwich; two brothers, Frank DeAquair Jr. (Jeanette) and Dwight D. DeAquair (Lorraine); three sisters, Norma A. Rose, all of Vero Beach, FL, Deborah A. Benedetti (Robert) of Riverside and Jolene DeAquair Gamache (Robert) of Pawtucket; four grandsons, Luke, Collin, Jake and Micah; three granddaughters, Avery, Riley and Maisy and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Peter’s Memory to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Rhode Island Chapter, P.O. Box 41659, Providence, RI, 02940 would be deeply appreciated.

  6. As we work our way in life we are always reminded of friends and family members who are no longer with us in this journey. Peter was family to me and I appreciated the time our families were together.
    My condolences to Peter’s family and the toll the Corvid virus had on trying to see him for so many months.

    Pete had a positive influence on me growing up as a kid and even as an adult I will truly miss him my condolences to Sue and his entire family I’ll be praying for you all. Rest In Peace Pete and thank you my friend

It was always a pleasure to work with him. We had so many good times both on and off duty. He was a great and special cop. I hope he is riding his Harley up in heaven and looking down smiling.   37. Sue, I’m so sorry to hear about Peter’s passing. I remember when you and Peter starting dating. Those were the good days. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. R.I.P Peter.

Just one of the greatest guys ever. The world is a better place for having him in it. May he Rest In Peace, and you be comforted by his memories.

  39. Peter was a wonderful person. He made people laugh, he helped out those in need. He loved his Riverside, his Harley and his family.
    He had compassion, empathy and respected everyone. It was a true honor to have worked with such a wonderful human being. It was so heartbreaking to see him suffer through his neurological issues. Yet, he still managed to make others comfortable even though he felt bad that he couldn’t ride his bike anymore. I truly loved knowing him. May he Rest In Peace, he leaves us all with many happy memories.

  46. Sorry for your lost. Peter was a good friend I met in High school back in 1966.
    I then worked with him at the East Providence sewer plant in Riverside.
