Sweeney, Phyllis, L., 82, of Pine Cone Drive, died peacefully on May 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of John C. Sweeney.

Born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Roland and Charlotte (Arnold) Willey, she lived in Barrington for 59 years.

Mrs. Sweeney was a bookkeeper for 35 years before retiring in 1993.

Phyllis was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she was a volunteer in the Encore Shop. She also was a volunteer for the Barrington Tap-In Program. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, refinishing furniture and spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her husband of 62 years, she is survived by a son; John M. ‘Jake’ Sweeney of Glastonbury, CT, a daughter; Joyce L. Sweeney of Chepachet and two grandsons; John M. Sweeney Jr. and Samuel R. Sweeney, both of Glastonbury, CT. She was the sister of the late George, Malcolm and Gordon Willey.

Her funeral will be held on Friday May 31, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 am with a funeral service in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington at 11 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
