Noonan, Raymond E., 92, of Winslow Street, Riverside, died peacefully on December 31, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Johanna (Gauch) Noonan.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Martin and Mary (Hogan) Noonan, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Noonan was the owner-operator of Noonan’s Driving School for 50 years. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy for 32 years.

Raymond was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10. He was a former member of the City of East Providence Zoning Board and the East Providence Democratic City Committee.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda A. Snell of Johnston and Kathleen A. Noonan of Riverside; a son, Kevin P. Noonan of East Providence; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Susan A. Noonan and brother of the late Mary Glassen, Martin and Joseph Noonan.

His funeral will be held on Monday January 9, 2017 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Calling hours are Sunday 5-8 p.m.
