Escalera, Renate, E., 77, of East Shore Circle, died peacefully on June 18, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at the Chestnut Terrace, 100 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. She was the wife of the late Rudy De La Garza Escalera.

Born in Germany, a daughter of the late Elsa Boettger, she lived in East Providence for 44 years.

Mrs. Escalera was a C.N.A. at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Home, East Providence for 30 years before retiring in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter; Andrea Escalera of East Providence, two grandchildren; Mario Escalera Jr. and Alexandria Escalera and a great granddaughter; Jordyn Escalera.

A private celebration of her life will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be private. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
