Fahey, Richard, 82, of Maxfield Avenue, died peacefully on September 26, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Barbara J. (Partridge) Fahey.
A lifelong resident of East Providence, he was the son of the late George P. and Albertine (Dill) Fahey.
Mr. Fahey was a Lieutenant for the East Providence Fire Department for 37 years before retiring in 1991. He was also a driver for the Gordon School and the former Balfour Floor Covering Co. working part-time for many years.
A sports enthusiast Richard was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
Mr. Fahey was a United States Coast Guard Reserves Veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl B. Fahey of East Providence; a brother, Eugene L. Fahey and his wife Carole of Florida; a sister, Patricia A. Burns and her husband Robert of Barrington; three grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was the father of the late R. Dennis Fahey and Christopher L. Fahey and brother of the late George, Francis and Paul Fahey.
His funeral service will be held on Monday September 29, 2014 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 12:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in Swan Point Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours are Monday morning 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
