Peter, Richard J., 78, of Narragansett Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on July 28, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marion (Miller) Peter.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles and Florence (Roe) Peter, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. Peter was a maintenance worker for Grace Barker Nursing Home, Warren for 12 years before retiring in 2006.
Richard enjoyed playing scratch tickets and spending time with his loving family.
Mr. Peter was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam era.
Besides his wife of 55 years, he is survived by a daughter, April L. Peter of Riverside; a granddaughter, Gianna Lynn Loccisano of Riverside and a brother, Bob Peter of Florida. He was the brother of the late Charles Peter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday August 2, 2023 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-6 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Rich’s memory to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI, 02914 would be deeply appreciated.

Just learned of Rick’s passing and very sad to think about. He was a good high school friend and just a nice person to be with. RIP Rick

My fondest memory of Mr.P was when he retired. He’d sit reading his newspaper on the front stairs. And right beside him was Baby his cat. My condolences to April and Gianna. Miss M we’re here for you.
