Sullivan, Richard J., 84, formerly of Thurston Street, Riverside, a stock broker for Kidder, Peabody & Co., Providence for 22 years before retiring in 1980, died peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2010 at the RI Bristol Veterans Home.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Richard J. Sullivan Sr. and Agnes L. (Howard) Sullivan, he lived in East Providence since 1926.
Mr. Sullivan attended Our Lady of Providence Seminary, Warwick and St. Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Silver Spring Golf Club and Triggs Memorial Golf Club.
Richard was a very active member of St. Brendan Church for many years. He was the brother of the late Robert J. Sullivan.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday July 20, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:15 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday morning 8:15-9:15 a.m.
