Richard Kelso Wheeler, 84, Lifelong Barrington resident, Richard (Dick) Wheeler, 84, died August 4, at Philip Hulitar In-Patient Hospice Center.
Dick was born September 28, 1927, in Barrington, and was married to the late Etta Wheeler for 41 years. He was a lace weaver at Rhode Island Lace Works for 42 years and retired in 1985. His interests included family, gardening, music, the Barrington Senior Center, Casinos, and for many years he and his wife made and donated ‘Wheeler-Pops’ and fine chocolates to hundreds of organizations.
He is survived by two children, Linda Stevenson, , who resides in Hebron, Ct. a Wilton Master Cake Decorator and Teacher, and Richard Wheeler, former principal of Barrington Middle School, who resides in Rehoboth, Ma., three grandchildren, Robert Stevenson of Nowalk, Ct. Kimberly Stevenson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Courtney (Wheeler) Cirillo of East Providence, and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to’ Barrington Senior Center’. A ‘Memorial Service’ will be held on Thursday evening, 7:00, at the United Methodist Church, 230 Washington Road, Barrington. Arrangements are by the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME.
