Mahoney, Richard, P., 81, of Bullocks Point Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on February 9, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at the Orchard View Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Janet E. (Wilson) Mahoney.

Mr. Mahoney was an Army Staff Sergeant serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Northeastern University.

Richard was the President of the Dighton, MA, Lions Club from 1981-1982. He liked to travel extensively.

He is survived by a daughter; Leah E. McShane of Barrington, a grandson; Joshua Mcshane of Barrington and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary L. Hunter, William T., Paul J. and Oliver F. Mahoney.

His funeral will be held on Monday February 13, 2012 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 am. Burial with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 pm.
