LaPorte, Richard, R., 67, of Stratford Road, Seekonk, MA, died peacefully on April 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Riley) LaPorte.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Rene J. and Gerritdena (Palland) LaPorte, he lived in Seekonk, MA for 41 years and Conway, NH for 20 years.

Mr. LaPorte, a mechanical contractor, was the co-founder of Environmental Systems Inc., Attleboro, MA, for 31 years before retiring in 2007.

Richard was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He was a member of the Seekonk Knights of Columbus Council #5108 and the National Association of Eagle Scouts.

Richard had a passion for golfing where he achieved two holes-in-one and was a member of the Crestwood Country Club, Rehoboth, MA and the Kezar Lake Country Club, Lovell, ME.

Besides his wife of 45 years, he is survived by three daughters; Renee M. LaPorte of Seekonk, MA, Christina M. LaPorte-Grzyb and her husband Andrew of Webster, MA and Danielle S. LaPorte of Seekonk, MA and two granddaughters; Nicole S. Price and Victoria G. Price, both of Seekonk, MA.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk, MA at 10 am. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
