Silvia, Richard S., 75, of Spruce Street, Barrington, died unexpectedly on September 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Charron) Silvia.

Born in Warren, a son of the late John and Rose (Carter) Silvia, he lived in Barrington for 50 years.

Mr. Silvia was a Forman for the Town of Barrington Highway Department for 32 years before retiring in 2005. He also worked at Dudek’s Bowling Lane, Warren for 67 years.

Richard was a communicant of St. Luke Church. He was a member of the Barrington Men’s Club and the Barrington Democratic Club.

Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his children, Diane M. Crowell of East Providence, Joann M. Manetta of Providence, Lori A. Brindamour of Barrington and Richard S. Silvia Jr. of East Providence; a sister, Delores Goulart of Bristol, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

His funeral will be held on Friday September 7, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.

Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Richard’s memory to The American Heart Association, 1 State Street, Suite 200, Providence RI 02908 would be deeply appreciated.
