Midwood, Rita, M., 94, of Harris Street, Riverside, a homemaker, died peacefully on February 2, 2010 with her devoted daughter Judith by her side. She was the wife of the late Joseph W. Midwood.

Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Marie (Quinlivan) Jean, she lived in Riverside for 47 years.

Mrs. Midwood was a member of the Riverside Recreational Center.

Rita is survived by her daughter; Judith J. Midwood of Riverside, a sister; Silvia Schwieitzer of Tiverton and a brother; Leo Jean of NC. She was the mother of the late Ann E. Mattern and Claire L. Corrigan. She was sister of the late Lillian Medeiros, Marie Crapser, Leah J. Marchington, Joseph A., Marian D., Arthur J. and Claire R. Jean.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday February 8, 2010 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea, MA. Calling hours are Sunday 2-5 pm.
