Munroe, Robert, B., Jr., 84, of Columbus Avenue, died peacefully on June 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Margreta G. (MacDonald) Munroe.

A lifelong resident of Barrington, he was the son of the late Robert B. Munroe Sr. and Florence (Belfield) Munroe.

Mr. Munroe was the owner and operator of the Bristol Screw Machine Co. and the Treasure Barn New & Used Furniture Shop for many years.

Robert was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hampden Meadows Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed auto racing and stock car racing.

Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl A. McCarty and her husband James of Barrington and Terrie L. Fiske of Barrington; three sons, Donald B. Munroe Sr. and his wife Denise of Seekonk, MA, George A. Munroe and his wife Tammy of Bristol and Gary D. Munroe and his wife Suzanne of Barrington; two brothers, Donald G. Munroe of Barrington and James Munroe of Riverside; two sisters, Sandra Lombardi of Englewood, FL and Dorothy Fanara of Riverside; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late William Munroe and father-in-law of the late Gregory Fiske.

A graveside committal service will be held on Monday June 22, 2015 in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Robert’s memory to the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI, 02809 would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements are by the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside.
