Whitsitt, Robert, C., 90, of East Bay Manor, 1440 Wampanoag Trial, Riverside, died peacefully on February 21, 2010. He was the husband of the late Althine F. (Crandon) Whitsitt.

Born in Red Wing, Minnesota, a son of the late Craig G. and Elizabeth (Pope) Whitsitt, he lived in East Providence for 3 years previously residing in Utica, NY for 5 years.

Mr. Whitsitt was an Administrator and former Superintendant of Schools on Long Island, NY. He was a developer of visual literacy for the Lakeside School for the Gould Foundation of New York.

Robert was a United States Veteran serving during World War II.

He is survived by a daughter; Gail F. Whitsitt-Lynch and her husband Francis P. Whitsitt-Lynch of East Providence, a son; Robert C. Whitsitt Jr. of CA and two grandchildren; Jesse F. Whitsitt-Lynch and Crandon L. Whitsitt-Lynch of East Providence.

A memorial service will be held in the Barrington Presbyterian Church, Country Road, Barrington at a time to be announced. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
