Harris, Robert, L., 84, formerly of Rhodes Avenues, Riverside, died peacefully on December 23, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla (Wing) Harris.

Born in Riverside, a son of the late Robert S. and Maude (Lewis) Harris, he lived in Riverside for 80 years.

Mr. Harris was a control room engineer for the Brayton Point-National Grid for 30 years before retiring in 1991.

Robert was a Mason and a member of the St. Andrew’s Lodge #32. He was a member of the Riverside Congregational Church. He enjoyed camping, golfing and boating.

Mr. Harris was a United States Army Veteran.

Besides his wife of 58 years, he is survived by three sons; Robert W. Harris of Riverside, Richmond W. Harris and his wife Patricia of Powell, OH and Mark L. Harris of Dighton, MA, four sisters; Nancy Cameron and her husband Hugh of Tiverton, Amey Hart of Wellesley, MA, Carolyn Strickland and her husband Harry of Rehoboth, MA and Deborah Stevens and her husband William of Seekonk, MA, nine grandchildren and one great grandson.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday December 28 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 12 noon. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rumford Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 4-8 pm.
