Tuthill, Robert, L., Sr., 86, formerly of Winthrop Street, Riverside, died peacefully on September 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband Lucille (Welch) Tuthill.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Frederick and Winifred (McLoughlan) Tuthill, he lived in Riverside for 58 years.

Mr. Tuthill was the owner of Tuthill Associates for 23 years before retiring in 2010. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

Robert was a former vestry and board member of St. Matthew & St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. He was a former Rhode Island Republican State Representative serving Riverside and he also was a former member of the East Providence Rotary Club.

Mr. Tuthill was a United States Maine Corp Veteran serving during World War II.

Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by a son; Robert L. Tuthill Jr. of Riverside, two daughters; Susan Poland and her husband Dennis of North Attleboro, MA and Laurel Power and her husband David of Jensen Beach, FL, a daughter-in-law; Patricia A. (Hawksley) Tuthill of East Greenwich, a sister; Janet Tuthill of Williamsburg, VA, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Bruce U. Tuthill.

His funeral service will be held on Friday September 14, 2012 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 11 am. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
