Robert Osmond Harrington, 89, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014 after a brief illness. Born August 24, 1924 in Riverside, Rhode Island, Bob came to Port Orange in 1994 to retire after a 45-year career as a design engineer for Brown & Sharpe. Bob was an Army veteran of WW II, a graduate of Brown University and a lifelong New Englander. He loved to garden, enjoyed stamp collecting and the loves of his life were his three grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (Waterman). Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jill (Johnston), daughters Suzanne Gregory (Robert), Pamela Thacker (James) and Jennifer Kane (Denise Duff), and adoring grandchildren Lauren Thacker, Kyle Thacker and Hannah Gregory. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2:00pm at Summer Trees Clubhouse, 61 Crooked Pine Road, Port Orange.
