McGovern, Robert T., 73, of Carousel Drive, Riverside, died unexpectedly on June 23, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Robert J. and Doris E. (Bengtson) McGovern, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. McGovern was a maintenance worker for Rhode Island Country Club before retiring.
Robert was a member of the Riverside American Legion Post #10 and Riverside Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus.
Mr. McGovern was a Unites States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 27, 2020 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Robert’s memory to Riverside American Legion Post #10, 830 Willett Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

So there is no confusion, Bobby was a Viet Nam war veteran and not an era veteran. You will be missed my friend. I am grateful for our time to share our experiences together. May you rest in peace my brother !!
