Ronald A. Jansen

Jansen, Ronald, A., 86, formerly of Riverside, died peacefully on January 4, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. (Lawlor) Jansen.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Kellard D. and Ardice (Cathcart) Jansen, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.
Mr. Jansen was the owner and operator of the Ronnie Jansen Building Contractors Co. from 1958-1994.
Ronald was a communicant of St. Luke Church. He was a member of the Wanunetonomy Country Club, Middletown for 30 years where he enjoyed golfing.
Mr. Jansen was a United States Navy Veteran.
Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by three daughters, Sharon L. Jarvis of Boynita Springs, FL, Kelley Ann Freeman of Coventry and Maria Palethrope of Barrington; a son, Mark F. Jansen of Riverside; a brother, Richard E. Jansen of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Kellard Jansen and Patricia Allard.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2017 in the
W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Ronald’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 would be deeply appreciated.
RIP Ron. We somehow missed the sad date. Ron was a good man and a tough old Riverside guy.

Dear Betty, Sharon, Mark, Kelley and Maria,
We were so sad to read that Ron had past. We have very good memories of him and all the Jansen family.
My mom is here with us until January 17/18 then she will return to Rangeley, ME. She will be 93 on Feb 9th. My Dad passed away on our 48th wedding anniversary (October 12th) 2016 and my mom had done pretty well soloing but it’s difficult for her.
I am still recovering from total hip replacement which is why, along with the weather I could not make it to Ron’s wake or burial.
We will keep you in our prayers.
