Rose (Toste) Serpa, 95 of Cranston passed away Wednesday, March 28 surrounded by her loving family at Brookdale Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry A. Serpa who predeceased her in 2010.
She was born to Manuel S. Toste and Rita (Vieira) Toste on January 25, 1923 in Terceira, Azores and was a resident of Providence and Cranston for more than 65 years.
Rose was devoted to God, her Church and Our Lady of Fatima. She was also a loving, devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt.
She is survived by her loving children: Henry of Cranston, James of Florida, William of Seekonk and daughter, Mary (Serpa) Carlino of North Kingstown. Grandchildren: Jennifer Ferreira, David Serpa, Derek and Sean Carlino, Christine and Andrew Serpa, Jason Serpa, Peter Platt and Elijah Rumbarger. Great grandchildren: Austin Serpa, Nathan and Jacob Ferreira, Olivia Rose and Dylan Carlino, Lilliana Rose Serpa, Michael, Tyler and Ella Rose Serpa and Aunt of many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Rose was predeceased by her siblings: Mary T. Vieira, Rita S. D’Antuono and John S. Toste.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10 a.m.
