Chester, Ruth, A., (Hickey), 87, of Oak Crest Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on February 22, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Richard W. Chester.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Stephen and Grace (Hayes) Hickey, she lived in Riverside since 1950.

Mrs. Chester was a pen assembler for A.T. Cross Co. for 18 years before retiring in 1981 where she was also a member of the Sunshine Club.

Ruth enjoyed traveling, golfing and bowling.

Besides her husband of 70 years, she is survived by a daughter; Diane Maciel of Warwick, a son; Richard W. Chester Jr. of Warwick, a sister; Barbara Gaulin of NH, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A committal service will be held on Saturday March 10, 2012 at 11 am in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, Wampanoag Trail, Riverside. Burial will follow.
