deMello, Ruth, M., 80, of Waseca Avenue, died peacefully on February 2, 2010.

Born in Newport, she lived in Barrington and Bristol for 16 years.

Ms. deMello was a receptionist at the Carmelite Monastery, Watson Avenue, Barrington for many years. She previously was a teacher’s assistant for the special education program of the Providence School Department for 40 years.

Ruth was a generous and kind person who enjoyed sewing and drawing artistic cards.

She is survived by three sisters; Elizabeth Stratton of Lake Placid, FL, Mary Lou Spencer of Smithville, TX and Mary and her husband Don Little of Long Tree, CO and dear friends; Marilyn and Billy Cook of Cranston. She was the sister of the late John, Joseph and Frederick deMello.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 6, 2010 in the Carmelite Monastery, Watson Avenue, Barrington at 11 am. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Carmelite Monastery Chapel. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside.
