  1. Who is a true friend?

A person you meet the very first time and a special bond is formed.

One who will choose you and tell you that they did because they feel the goodness of your soul.

A true friend whether near or far, or how much time has past will always send a “hello, how have you been?” message.

Those past special memories, created between you and your true friend will always put a huge genuine smile on your face.

Sal Capirchio was a true friend of mine. It’s been a year, miss him dearly.

Maureen, I love you, You are a blessing in disguise, always kind and helpful to me during days of work.
I cherish all the memories of you, of Sal, of you both together.

Have peace in knowing Sal is with the Lord, waiting for you to join him in that heavenly home.

  2. Hi Maureen. I just learned of Sal’s passing and wanted you to know just how sorry I am. He gladly gave of his time in helping me rework my resume and supported my decision to return to graduate school in public health at BU. My prayers and thoughts are with you. May Sal rest in peace.

  3. Maureen. Sal and I first met working at Cherry Hill Manor, we discovered our combined love of magic, I kept wanting to call him but life kept getting in the way. Sorry for your loss.

  4. My good friend, my co-worker and “commiserating companion”, my Twilight Zone documentarian with his camera, the one I sought out when I needed a balanced look at life, and a fresh laugh – Sal, you added an amazing combination of thoughtfulness, truth and child-like enthusiasm to my life. Through you the world got a lot smaller: Maureen was my classmate at CCRI. I still smile, remembering when Sal told me Mo was his wife. Coincidentally, Maureen shares my mother’s birthday and Sal, my oldest brother’s. I lost my brother Dennis in 2010. I chose Sal to help fill that void; my good friend became my older brother.
Maureen, it took this long for me to add my thoughts – I am still numb as I type these words. My prayers and love are with you. I am and will be here if you need anything.
There is a piece of music from the series Gilmore girls, a beautiful acoustic passage. I’ll forever know it as “Sal’s Theme”. It plays in my heart, every day…
I love you, Sal. See you down the road.

  5. I’m just without words and feel almost sucker punched by the news. Too young and too soon. We should have had so many more laughs together.

The adage “why are goodbyes so hard” is an understatement in this type of moment, and when it comes to losing an original “first” friend and colleague that you started your career with. Sal and I started our careers together at Pioneer Electronics many moons ago, but as our jobs and industries changed, we never lost track of each other because of the instant bond we made there. So much success and so many funny stories and memories made together in such a small window of time that was amplified year by year.

I will miss this rascal. His smile. His honesty. His incredible New England accent! Most of all, his passion for life and family. And the love for his wife Maureen.

In the immortal words of our favorite comedian John Pinette, “Ahhh…fat boy. You go now!”

    I’ll see you again buddy.

  6. Hi Maureen,

We spent many of days playing hockey, football, baseball together, Sal always being the best goalie around. I had touched base with him on facebook and we talked about the good old days. Even though you don’t see someone everyday friendships go on forever. I was happy to call him a friend,
    Sincerely,

He was gentle and kind and had a way of explaining IT in a way that was understood. He was always very patient in explaining things. I enjoyed many conversations with him when he came to fix our computers at work. He was so talented in photography and loved to see his work. He was truly a beautiful soul.

  43. Maureen, Anne and I just found out from Father Tim this morning of Sals passing, just shocked as so many are. We were going to talk about your trip to Alaska as I have another project up there. I cannot believe I will not hear his voice or receive a text from him again. His attention to detail was second to none and his eye for photographs in life, nature and our world really took our breath away. What a talent he had for this, he and I would talk about our health and hearts as we both had similar cardiac issues as you know.
