Sharyn (Leoncavallo) Rock

Sharyn (Leoncavallo) Rock, 72, of Riverside, passed away on Friday September 9, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James H. Rock.

Born in Providence in 1950, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Sullivan) Leoncavallo. Sharyn was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Sharyn was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1968. She worked as a legal secretary for 45 years.

Besides her husband of thirty six years, she is survived by several nieces and nephews and many close friends and family members. She was the sister of the late Ronald Leoncavallo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday September 15, 2022 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-7 p.m.

Her funeral service will be private followed by a private burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Sharyn’s memory to Crossroads Rhode Island, 160 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02903 would be deeply appreciated.

  2. Dear Jimmy, I was so sorry to hear about Sharyn’s illness and her passing. She was a very special person. I was fortunate enough to have worked with her for over 10 years at Maggie’s office. She was so dedicated and loyal, and so much fun to work with. She will be sorely missed.

  10. We grew up in the same close-knit neighborhood (beginning on Holland Avenue) and I remember Sharyn and her family so well. Sharyn was a kind and loyal friend to all, and I am sorry to learn of her passing. May she rest with angels, and may her husband, family, and friends find comfort in their memories.

  18. Jimmy. So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was such a sweet, great person and we are happy to have got to know her and to have been part of your ‘Christmas with the Griffin’s’ family. We will always remember and cherish the Christmas Eve’s we all spent together at Jim and Liz’s. We had so much fun over all those years! After my dad passed away, Sharyn continued to work for my cousin at her firm in Wakefield. She was a terrific asset to both my dad and my cousin, but an even better person.
