Cook, Shirley M., (Bestwick), 88, of Peck Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully on November 24, 2021 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Walter R. Cook Jr.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Noel and Lily (Carlin) Bestwick, she was a lifelong resident of East Providence.

Mrs. Cook was a member of the Saints Matthew & Mark Church, Barrington, the Red Hat Ladies Club and the East Providence Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her loving sons, daughter-in-law’s and grandchildren.

She is survived by five sons, David W. Cook and his wife Debra, Daniel W. Cook, Noel G. Cook and his wife Sue and Peter W. Cook and his wife Wendy, all of Riverside and Paul W. Cook and his wife Linda of Hopkinton; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two nieces, Susan and Cindy of Oklahoma. She was the sister of the late Robert and Donna Bestwick.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 29, 2021 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.

Calling hours are Sunday 3-6 p.m. Contributions in Shirley’s memory to the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI, 02904 would be deeply appreciated.
