Stephen J. “Steve” Moran, 69, of Mathewson Street, Cranston, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Steere House in Providence, where he received exceptional and compassionate care from the staff.
Born in Providence, Steve was the son of the late James V. and Dorothy M. (DiLuglio) Moran. He made his home in Cranston for 48 years, building a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and love for those around him.
For two decades, Steve was the proud Owner and Operator of Moran Electric, serving his community with dedication and integrity. He later continued his commitment to helping others through his work with the City of Cranston Housing Authority and, most recently, as a valued employee at Lowe’s.
Steve found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to music, had a deep affection for animals, and was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
He is survived by two loving sisters, Maureen A. Moran of Rumford and Patricia A. Michaud of Pawtucket, along with several cherished nieces and nephews. He was also a proud Godfather to many.
Steve was predeceased by his brothers, James F. Moran and Dennis P. Moran, and by his stepfather, Hans C. Andersen.
Steve will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering work ethic, and the quiet but enduring love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence, on a date and time to be announced. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
