Hilton, Ted, D., 65, of Meadowcrest Drive, Riverside, died unexpectedly on August 16, 2014.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Theodore C. and Maybelle (Hunter) Hilton, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Hilton was a longtime employee of the former Fleet Bank, now Bank of America, before retiring in the spring of 2014. He previously was an assistant tax assessor in South Kingstown.

A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted New England Patriot and Boston Red Sox fan. He loved the ocean and boating in Narragansett, where he hoped to live during his retirement.

Mr. Hilton was a United States Army Veteran serving two terms in the Vietnam in 1969 and 1971, where he was a Specialist 5 for the 71st Transportation Battalion.

He is survived by a sister, Valda M. Lavertue of Riverside; two nieces, Rene M. Brayer and Sherrie M. Manni; a nephew, Ray Lavertue and several great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Hilton and brother-in-law of the late Raymond Lavertue.

His funeral service will be private. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Rehoboth Village Cemetery, Bay State Road, Rehoboth, MA. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
