Meehan, Terrence J., “Terry” 71, of Royal Avenue, Riverside Terrace, died unexpectedly on December 28, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Iris R. (Tanzi) Meehan.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John F. and Rose T. Meehan, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Meehan was a truck driver for the former Kelleher Oil Company for 30 years before retiring in 2010. He also was a former Special Police Officer for the East Providence Police Department for 10 years.

Terry was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #251 where he was a member of the Million Mile Club. He was a former umpire and coach for the Riverside Little League from 1983-1986. He enjoyed his yard work and collecting Texaco memorabilia.

Mr. Meehan was a member of the Rhode Island National Guard from 1972-1982.

Besides his wife of forty eight years, he is survived by his children, Shawn J. Meehan of East Providence, Kevin M. Meehan of Riverside, Melissa J. Delmonico and her husband Matt of East Providence; four grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Meehan of Cranston and two brothers, Kevin Meehan and his wife Sharon of East Providence and Timothy Meehan and his wife Mary Ellen of Barrington. He was the brother of the late Rosann Dalessio and William Meehan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. A private burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Terry’s memory to the Riverside Little League, P.O Box 15331, Riverside, R.I. 02915 would be deeply appreciated.

We shared allot of great times and lots of laughs especially when he told us his jokes. He was always there to offer advice and to lend a hand whenever you needed it. He’ll be greatly missed .
