Pompei, Theresa P., 96, of Bowen Court, Riverside, died peacefully on April 3, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Pompei.

Born in Warren, a daughter of the late Donat and Zelia (Simard) Fournier and stepdaughter of the late Leonard Metthe, she lived in Riverside for 68 years.

Mrs. Pompei was a member of the Warren Leisure Group. She enjoyed knitting, reading and was an avid fan of The Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Mario Pompei and his wife Jayne of Oregon City, Oregon, Patricia A. Pompei of Riverside, Gary M. Pompei and his wife Kathleen of Rehoboth, MA, Francine A. Valletta and her husband Thomas of Riverside and Wayne J. Pompei and his wife Catherine of Springfield, Oregon; five grandchildren; twelve great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jane Fournier-Grimo of Bristol, Madeline Metthe-Almedia of Bristol and Constance “Connie” Metthe-Natale of Barrington and loving sister-in-laws Gloria Metthe and Theresa Ferrucci. She was the sister of the late Armand Metthe.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday April 11, 2023 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington.

Calling Hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Theresa’s memory to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 would be deeply appreciated.

  23. I remember her from growing up on Winthrop St. and walking to school with Mario. She always had a warm smile and lived having the neighborhood kids around.

  24. If you were lucky enough to have grown up on Lindy Avenue you loved Mrs. Pompei.
    The quintessential neighbor Mom. First color television on the St. Every Tuesday night 50 kids would pile into the Pompei Livingroom to watch Batman! And somehow there were snacks for everyone. Great memories of a great lady.
