Gaynor, Thomas L., 88, of Smithfield, died peacefully on December 22, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Hope (Maguire) Gaynor.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Lawrence and Anna (McGovern) Gasbarino, he lived in Greenville for 3 years, South Yarmouth, MA for 24 years and Warwick for 24 years.

Mr. Gaynor was an Agent for Cape Air Airlines for 23 years before retiring in 2012. He previously was a Manager for the former Eastern Airlines for 25 years until 1986. He also was a baggage operator for the Providence and Worcester Railroad from 1950-1961.

Thomas was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family over the years.

He is survived by two sons, Peter T. Gaynor and his wife Susan of Jamestown and Paul J. Gaynor and his wife Karen Ketterer of Dover, MA; two daughters, Martha E. Gaynor and her husband Glenn M. Silvia of Greenville and Maureen A. Gaynor of Greenville; a sister, Florence Lockey of Providence and six grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Matthew Gaynor and Francis Gasbarino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday December 30, 2016 in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield at 9:30 a.m.
