Veronica A. Whittle
Date of Passing:
Veronica A. (Fee) Whittle, 94, of Stratford Arms, Riverside, formerly of Belton Circle, Barrington, died peacefully on September 7, 2025.
Born in North Adams, MA to John Fee and Elizabeth Brackley Fee, Ronnie lived a life marked by quiet strength, sharp intellect, and deep devotion to her family. She moved to her supportive community of Stratford Arms after living in Barrington for 49 years, where she built lasting friendships. She was lucky to have several of those friends as neighbors at Stratford Arms as well.
She worked for the State of RI in the Department of Labor and Training for more than 23 years, working her way up from part-time interviewer to Assistant Director for Field Operations.
She was a past president of Hameho Garden Club, a member of the St. Luke’s, Barrington Bogies, and Executive Women’s golf leagues, and the Barrington Women’s Club. She played bridge for years with various groups, most enduringly at RI Country Club, where she enjoyed laughter, conversation, and camaraderie.
She is survived by her loving children, Terry A. Bond of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, J. Sheldon Whittle (Brenda) of Clermont, FL, Tracy W. Jones (Greg) of Newburyport, MA, Claudia B. Whittle with whom she lived in Riverside, and Leslie W. Goodwin (Jim) of Barrington. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of the late Mary, Claire, June, and Catherine, and was predeceased by her son-in-law Roger Bond and former husband, Bernard Whittle.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2025 in the W RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4:00-6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 24, 2025 in the W RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME at 10 AM. My sincerest sympathy to Ronnie’s family any her dear friends. Through her hard work, diligence, .motivation and work ethic she advanced within the RI Department of Labor and Training (DLT). She was a mentor to many within the agency striving to improve the knowledge and capabilities of many. She was a mentor and great friend to me. She will truly be missed.
Ronnie was one of kind. She was a mother figure to me along with someone that I respected, admired and considered a role model. She was warm and so funny. She always had a great story to tell and believe me, she told it like it was!
God bless you Ronnie, the heavens are a better place with you there.
As Claudia’s friend, I only met Ronnie a handful of times, but every minute in her company was a gift. My deepest condolences to Claudia, Leslie, and the rest of the family.
I loved playing bridge with Ronnie, until my own age forced me to withdraw from the group. She will be missed.
Terry, Shelly, Tracey, Claudia, and Leslie,
You were so lucky to have had your wonderful mom in your lives for so long!
Those of us who knew her, especially when we were young, were privileged she shared her kindness with us. It was an honor to have known her.

Heartfelt condolences to Ronnie’s family. It won’t be the same without her. She was a dear friend to me. Her guidance helped me through some pretty bad times, and I was forever grateful.
Ronnie gave me a job at DLT which turned out to be one of the best things I have ever experienced. I spent 15 years going to work every day, saying to myself “I love this job” thank you, Ronnie. Later on, she sponsored me to join the Barrington Women’s Club where I made many new friends and enjoyed many new challenges. Ronnie was indeed a huge influence in my later years. I will truly miss our 4 pm chats and cocktails. CHEERS for a great gal, bigger than life. Her door was always open. She leaves many wonderful memories behind for all of us. May she rest in peace and play bridge with the angels
