Veronica A. Whittle

Date of Passing:

September 7, 2025

Veronica A. (Fee) Whittle, 94, of Statford Arms, Argyle Avenue, Riverside, formerly of Belton Circle, Barrington, died peacefully on September 7, 2025 at the Steere House, Providence.

Born in North Adams, MA, a daughter of the late John F. and Elizabeth M. (Brackley) Fee, Veronica lived a life marked by quiet strength, sharp intellect, and deep devotion to her family and community. She made Riverside her home after residing in Barrington for 49 years, where she built lasting friendships and found joy in the simple pleasures of daily life.

Veronica dedicated 23 years of her professional life to public service, working as an assistant director for Field Operations at the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, retiring in 1997.

Veronica found fulfillment in her community activities. She was a proud member of the Barrington Women’s Club and formerly of the Barrington Hameho Garden Club, where her love for nature and camaraderie bloomed. An avid Bridge player, she delighted in games shared with friends at the Rhode Island Country Club, where laughter and conversation were as cherished as the cards played.

She is survived by her loving children: Terry A. Bond of Fort Lauderdale, FL; James S. Whittle and his wife Brenda of Clermont, FL; Tracy W. Jones and her husband Greg of Newburyport, MA; Claudia B. Whittle of Riverside; and Leslie A. Goodwin and her husband Jim of Barrington. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of the late Mary, Claire, June, and Catherine, and was predeceased by her son-in-law Roger Bond.

Veronica’s life was one of quiet dignity, enduring love, and steadfast service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, followed by burial in Prince’s Hill Cemetery, County Road, Barrington on a date and time to be announced.

In honor of her wishes, flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Veronica’s memory to the Barrington Tap-In Program, 281 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806 would be deeply appreciated.
